New track available: "Cariad" by Bluejooz

I've just released a new version of a track I wrote many years ago called "Cariad". This one, just like "Dreamcatcher" is a total rewrite and a whole new sound. I decided to go back to basics with it and rearrange a lot of the original tune.
All performed, rearranged, produced and recorded by myself, Bluejooz.

Record from Propellerhead Software

I wish it was Christmas... this would be top of my list.
Looks like I might have to start saving up... looks the shizz.

I've used several different softstudios over the years but Record looks and is probably awesome.

Oh well, back to Snoozbase.

"Dreamcatcher 2010" by Bluejooz

This post has been updated - the mix is now a newer version. The blurb below is the same though...

A new and remixed version of Dreamcatcher has just been uploaded to my SoundCloud.
It's still pretty rough and needs some mixing to finish (and balancing vocals) but I thought I'd share it with you first.
By the way, this isn't an instrumental. It's a remake of an old track I wrote about 12 years ago. The original was performed by the band I used to write with (Cyra Elia) and was co written by Dave Sharples, Phil Riddell and R. Whittingham.
This new mix features me performing all instruments and vocals too.

Enjoy,
Blue

Just a heads up to tell you that I've changed the tracks at my Sixtyone.com website.

Ellie Markham "Red Rose Petals"

I've just had the pleasure of working with an extremely talented young lass called "Ellie Markham". The song I have just produced for this amazing 17 year old is one of her original tracks called "Red Rose Petals". It is gorgeous imho and I hope you agree.

It's form is quite raw as I didn't want to detract from the vocal detail.

This is an early version of the track which I'm releasing to you but there will be a stronger and more polished version at a later date.

Many thanks and please... take a listen and if you like it then please say so :)

Tracks online at another site!

I love Soundcloud... the features are good, the ease of uploading tracks is so simple and it's extremely user friendly.
But... being a musician, I want more! And so do you!

I have now uploaded tracks to another website called "The Sixty One".
Ahem, you can now download and listen to my music at http://www.thesixtyone.com/#/bluejooz

The site is an incredible pool of great artists and music. The design and interface is friendly and very easy to use. The only drawback is that you are only allowed to upload three tracks at a time. I think it might be a 24hr turnaround but I'll soon find out... because I'll be uploading more tomorrow.
Oh, and you can sell your music too.

For more information take a look at the site.
It's really good in my opinion :)

Fractals and Bluejooz

I've done a little video containing fractal artworks created using Chaoscope and then post producing them in Photoshop with various free plug ins.
The music is titled as "Powder" but it isn't. The actual track is called "Frozen Dawn".
Enjoy...

Shadow Of Doubt by Cyra Elia

Here is a new song that I have just produced for Cyra Elia (pronounced Kai-rah E-liar)
Written and sung by Cyra and features Kev Carlton Jones on guitars and bass. Drums, keyboards and other musical knick knacks were done by myself.
The track is called "Shadow Of Doubt" and it will only be available for a limited time.

At the moment it is available via Reverbnation (no registration needed) so please take a listen by clicking on the link below.
Shadow Of Doubt

You will find that after listening to the track that there are several other versions on the page. They are the originals. Cyra used this track as a "Work In Progress" and kept her Facebook buddies updated with numerous versions so they could hear how the song went from a simple 4 track recording (Yamaha MT50) to a completed final mix.

You will also find other songs on the page too that you may also like.

Enjoy,

Chasing Dreams (Demo) from Cyra Elia

Cyra Elia has uploaded / released a new demo track called "Chasing Dreams". It's very simple and laid back. The feedback has been really good.

My only concern is that I've got to produce a full blown version of this track but at the moment I don't want to change it as I think it's sublime as it is.

Here you go... it's free!

A couple of new releases from Ambient Collective

There are a couple of releases that I need to tell you about...
The first is Nucleolus.
This "mini" 4 track release comprises of IDM ambient style creations by Steve Gane, usr/sbin (Dennis Moser), Jujigen (Kevin Rees) and myself Bluejooz.
The concept was conceived by Steve Gane. He wanted tracks for this collaboration to have an element of "Ambient Dance flavour" to them.

It's a very rich and quite diverse release and is one of my favourites (at the moment...)

The second release (and the latest) is "Sonic Strata".
Just like "strata", each track was written in layers by four different artists working on the same track.

"Three tracks... four artist collaborating on one each. Each artist built a layer and then sent it on to the next artist. The result? An incredibly rich and diverse ambient release.
This is our first "true" collaboration release."

Featuring Jujigen, Echomatrix, Palancar, Steve Gane, usr/sbin, Somnarium, Modulator ESP, Phrozenlight, Sonoprint and Bluejooz.

3 Exclusive Ambient Collective Mixes

There are three new and exclusive mixes created by myself (Bluejooz) now available to download.
They are:

Jujigen Mix
http://tinyurl.com/the-jujigen-mix

A slow building, mind relaxing crescendo of tracks all taken from previous Ambient Collective releases. Expertly crafted to help you unwind and shake off the shackles of a, dare I say it, a real shitty day at work? Totally dream worthy and chilled to the core.

usr/sbin Mix
http://tinyurl.com/the-usrslashsbin-mix

A sweet blend of Dennis Mosers tracks that have been released via The Ambient Collective. The drones are amazingly sublime, intuitive and mind bending... and they really do chill you out. You should light a candle, turn off the lights and kick back to this stunning mix.

Bluejooz Mix
http://tinyurl.com/the-bluejooz-mix

More for the IDM / soundtrack freaks. Some of Blue's finest Ambient Collective tracks mixed together to create a stunning and sometimes frantic atmosphere. Pure lounge music mixed with deep drones; Earth soundtracks mixed with enveloping dynamics with electronica flowing through the musical veins.

All tracks are approximately an hour long.

Please enjoy,
Bluejooz

New release... "Quarks"

My little ambient online label, The Ambient Collective, has just released "Quarks", a project launched and conceived by Jujigen (a.k.a. Kevin Rees)
It only contains a few tracks but they really do pack an ambient punch.
Treat yourself... go on, it's free!

C64 classic remix... Delta 07 by Bluejooz

Ahhhh... one of the greatest musicians of Commodore 64's history in my opinion was Rob Hubbard.
This version I did was a rearrangement of the original version. It has been knocking around the Internet for sometime but now you can get it here... from the original artist himself... me. Even though Rob Hubbard wrote it (thumbs up!)
I love the original version and hope I've done it some justice. Hard to believe that the original is over twenty years old...
As usual with my tracks I operate something which I've tagged the "Honesty Policy". In other words, if you like it then please consider a small donation. Half of all donations go to Breast Cancer Research.

Privately by Cyra Elia

Privately was originally written by myself and Cyra around 2001 and featured Ian "Brooke" Marshall on guitar, Cyra on vocals and myself on keyboards. The track went down well at gigs but as a recording it just didn't meld. Two and half years ago I uploaded the original version as a download even though I wasn't happy with it. It wasn't long after when our old guitarist, original member Dave Sharples, heard it and contacted Cyra on Facebook and was hooked on it straight away. He had come up with some guitar hooks and sounds that he thought would compliment the track. In December 2007, Boxing Day, we met up for the first time since 1998 and headed straight to the studio to work on a new version.
New keyboards were layered, new vocals were recorded along with backing vocals and several new guitar tracks were applied to the original recording. After two days recording it was almost ready to mix down. After a few little edits, a snip here, a snip there, a few mind altering drugs... no wait, I can't remember that bit... anyhow, I give you "Privately".
Remember, if you like the track then please consider using the "Honesty Policy". All I ask for is a small donation (paid via PayPal)... I don't mind if it's a cent, a nickle, a dime, a dollar, a quid, a euro. Half of all donations go to Breast Cancer Research charity.

Speedball 2 remix...

I've had loads of requests for this track so I've finally uploaded it here so everyone can grab it.
Originally written by Nation XII for The Bitmap Brothers all time classic game Speedball 2.
This was my second attempt at remixing this track and personally I think it's my best version. I have another but it's somewhere online but I can't find it... maybe that's a good thing though because if my memory serves me right... it was a tad shit.

I have some more remixes somewhere including "Gods", "Delta" (two versions) and "Zoids".

I will eventually upload them and share them but for now please enjoy Speedball 2 Brutal Remix!

Again, if you enjoy the track then please consider using my "honesty policy"... click on the donation button. You can submit anything you think is worthy (a penny... a pound... a euro... a couple of bucks etc!)
Donations will go into my beer fund but if I get to £50 pounds then I will donate half to charity. And which charity? Breast Cancer Research.
Many thanks,
Blue

Blimey... back from the dead?

Greeeeets.... it's been a while :)
Ok, I'm back. Things have changed too... apart from writing new ambient material I've also dipped back into my band roots too. I've been remastering a few of my old tracks and even re-recorded some too. The latest is a track called "Puppetmaster" which was originally written over ten years ago with my old band "Cyra Elia". We split up over ten years ago so in reality Puppetmaster is a lot older than I remember... I have problems remembering what I had for breakfast most days!
Anyhow, the track has been totally redone and features the original guitarist and vocalist (Dave Sharples and Rachel Whittingham) and sounds fabulous. I'm allowed to biased ;)

The track is available for free... but if you like it (or even think it sucks) then please consider a small donation... even if it's just a quid, a euro, a dollar or a button, your donation will go towards my beer fund. Erm.

One of my tracks is causing quite a stir...

It appears that one of my tracks called "The Surf At Abersoch" is causing quite a stir in the music world. It is currently a featured track on the latest Serious-Sounds podcast and has had radio play on several ambient networks.
I have to admit that I do like the track myself as it is a little different to most of my usual blends.
Feel free to help yourself to the track...
